Getting Started
What is NeedPCP?
NeedPCP is a primary care clinic that strives to provide fast and easy care.
Our physicians primarily provide virtual care over the phone but occasionally provide in-person care.
Unlike our clinics, we provide facilities and patients with a phone number so you can text a doctor or our support team 7 days/week, including evenings and nights.
Appointments typically occur within an hour of requesting one!
What Are The Costs?
Facilities – Nothing!
Patients – We bill your insurance. If there is any remainder like a copay, we send an invoice.
Low Income? Invoices are usually under $10, but if you are struggling to pay, we may reduce or eliminate this amount.
Who Qualifies?
- You must be 18 years or older. We don’t treat minors.
- You do not have to be in a facility to access our services and can continue to access our services after leaving a facility if you are currently in one that works with us.
- You must have current Anthem BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, Elevance, Cigna, Health.Net, or United Healthcare insurance. If you do not have one of these insurance carriers, we may offer a cash payment option. Contact us for more details.
- We are based in California but can provide virtual care in AL, AR, AZ, CA, DE, DC, FL, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, MD, MN, MO, MS, ND, NE, NC, NY, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WV. You must located in one of these states when using our services.
How Do I Start?
For Facilities – Text us or click the “New Facility?” button above so we can get in touch with your clients and work with your facility. You can text our doctors anytime a client needs care and will typically get a call from a doctor within the hour to evaluate and treat your client. We can send prescriptions to any pharmacy.
For Patients – Click the “New Patient?” button above to answer a few questions. Even as a new patient, you will likely get an appointment today.
How It Works
How Do I See My Doctor or Contact the Support Team?
After signing up, we will provide you with our phone number. Text our support and medical team anytime. Day or night. Weekday or weekend.
How Do I Get a Prescriptions, Labs, or Referrals?
After your appointment, we immediately:
- Send prescriptions electronically to the pharmacy of your choice
- Send you lab orders to take to a local lab facility such as Quest Diagnostics.
- Send you referral(s) to see specialists.
How Often Do I Need Appointments?
Every patient is different. Your provider will let you know when to follow up during your appointment. You can also schedule appointments anytime you want.
What If I Need a Refill?
Your provider will typically give you enough refills to last until your follow up so if you don’t have any more refills, please schedule an appointment.
Types of Treatments
Do You Treat Conditions Not Listed Above?
Yes. While our providers cannot treat some medical conditions with virtual care, they treat a wide range of medical conditions. The conditions listed above are some of the common ones we treat but not a complete list.
What Medications Do You Prescribe?
Our providers prescribe a large variety of medications depending on the conditions they are treating. These include antibiotics, muscle relaxants, antidepressants, vitamins, sleep aids, and more.
Do You Prescribe Controlled Substances?
Generally, no. In certain rare cases, our providers may prescribe controlled substances. If you are prescribed a controlled substance, your provider may ask you to submit urine drug tests once in a while.
Do You Complete Disability/SDI Forms?
No. You will need to get this from an in-person provider.
